Television TELEVISION

"Vous regarderez ce que vous voyez. Mais vous le regarderez absolument. Vous essaierez de regarder jusqu’à l’extinction de votre regard, jusqu’à son propre aveuglement et à travers celui-ci vous devrez essayer encore de regarder. Jusqu’à la fin."

Background of all pages for the text passage from Marguerite Duras’ "L’homme atlantique / Atlantik Mann" (French original / German translation) are photographs that show Ines von Ketelhodt at different ages. These photographs were treated in different medias: first shot with a TV-camera, later on combined with the typography within a TV-graphic-computer. The results were taken from the TV-screen by a 35 mm camera. The thus created black-and-white photographs were scanned and at last printed in letterpress with polymer-plates. A lot of medias were used: photography, TV-recorder, TV-graphic-computer, photography again, scanner of a macintosh-computer, film, polymer-plates, letterpress. Design: Ines von Ketelhodt. Bookprinting paper, 54 pages, printed paperboard. Oberursel 1999.
